Take Shape Studio
Oakland, CA

Take Shape Studio is an artisan jewelry line, designed and constructed by Sophie Silverstein, a California native who grew up treasure hunting at local bead stores with her mom. It was her mom who taught her to make jewelry, but more importantly, that she could create rather than consume. In 2014 Sophie took her first metalworking class and absolutely fell in love. Using playful shapes and impactful lines, Sophie designs jewelry inspired by visual observations, symbols, tactile experiments, nature, and art, and utilizes traditional metal working processes and materials that have been used for centuries. From sanding and soldering to casting and polishing, each piece is handcrafted by Sophie in her Oakland studio.
